"Do not believe that he who seeks to comfort you lives untroubled among the simple and quiet words that sometimes do you good. His life has much difficulty and sadness...Were it otherwise he would never have been able to find those words." - Rainer Maria Rilke

letters to a young poet.
I had been looking for this book for months now. The reason it took so long to find is because I really only buy books from charity shops, but let me tell you, you'd be hard pressed to find Bukowski in a charity shop- for him you'd need to hit Amazon. On my way home from job number 2, I examined the cover and traced fumbling fingers down its withered spine, then opened the pages to stick my nose in and get a good whiff (second-hand books have the most glorious smell). The most interesting thought of my day was to be found very soon into my reading in the Translator's Notes, and have waited all day to share it with someone who would appreciate it. However, I do not know who that person is, and so it falls into your lot, good people of the Internet.
to blog; a solution to my inability to ruin a blank sheet of paper.
Welcome, one and all! Well done you for finding my niche online existence. I've never been good at introductions, or even talking about myself, so I'd like to think you'll learn all you need to know through my blog posts. But for now I'll leave you with this: My name is Becky, I graduated from Bangor university with a degree in Psychology and am currently on another year off in-between studies. I live most of my life in my head. The rest of the time I live online under the guise of a blogger; I’m not delusional enough to think people actually want to read or care a jot about my musings, but here they are. I believe that everyone else my age is an adult, whereas I am merely in disguise. I started this blog as a creative outlet for my inner artiste, as opposed to my first blog which contains small ramblings and random thoughts. I'd like to be able to share what I love and do with you lovely readers in the hope that someone may be inspired by it, or even just think "that's cool". However you got here, I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. Let's do this.
