letters to a young poet.

I had been looking for this book for months now. The reason it took so long to find is because I really only buy books from charity shops, but let me tell you, you'd be hard pressed to find Bukowski in a charity shop- for him you'd need to hit Amazon. On my way home from job number 2, I examined the cover and traced fumbling fingers down its withered spine, then opened the pages to stick my nose in and get a good whiff (second-hand books have the most glorious smell). The most interesting thought of my day was to be found very soon into my reading in the Translator's Notes, and have waited all day to share it with someone who would appreciate it. However, I do not know who that person is, and so it falls into your lot, good people of the Internet.
"Do not believe that he who seeks to comfort you lives untroubled among the simple and quiet words that sometimes do you good. His life has much difficulty and sadness...Were it otherwise he would never have been able to find those words." - Rainer Maria Rilke
